Country Watch

Animal-watching can be fascinating and fun – if you know what to look for and how best to observe it. There are so many different kinds of animals to see in the British countryside – in wood, field and hedgerow; on moor and mountain – and it’s not only the unusual ones that are interesting. Even those that are quite commonplace can be exciting to observe.

As well as telling you what to look out for, Country Watch is full of surprising facts about animals (did you know that the tiny mole can burrow its way through thirty pounds of earth in an hour?) and Dick King-Smith has lots of marvellous stories to tell about his own encounters with animals over the years. With the help of this book, perhaps you will too one day!
