Babe Movie Star Imitates Art By Saving Piglet

Published on Thursday, April 13th, 2023

Babe star James Cromwell, who starred as Farmer Hoggett in the blockbuster film, recently rescued a piglet and gave it a perfect name. Based on Dick King-Smith’s 1983 novel The Sheep-Pig, Babe centres on a special pig who wishes to perform the duties of a sheepdog.

“Having had the privilege of witnessing and experiencing pigs’ intelligence and inquisitive personalities while filming, the movie ‘Babe’ changed my life and my way of eating, and so I jumped at the chance to save this real-life Babe,” Cromwell said in a statement.

He named the lucky piglet Babe. That’ll do pig. That’ll do.
